"They came with peace” was created as a reaction and reflection of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh during 2022-2023.
It started with a blockade by so-called eco-activists of the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the outer world.
One evening, these so-called "eco-activists" released 44 doves into the air as a supposed "symbol of peace." However, a video of the event, widely circulated on social media, revealed a disturbing scene: amidst the release, one protester was seen hysterically shaking a dead dove while chanting into a loudspeaker. Subsequently, the deceased dove fell to the ground at the feet of the protesters.
This orchestrated eco-activist movement quickly turned into a ten-month blockade of the Lachin humanitarian corridor, the sole lifeline connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to the outside world. This siege resulted in the hostage-taking of 120,000 Armenian individuals within Artsakh, compounded by the deliberate cutoff of gas supplies, electricity, medication and food supplies by the Azerbaijani government.
It ended with a brutal attack and carpet bombing which lasted for 2 days. after which the people of Artsakh, were forcibly displaced by the Azerbaijani aggression and fled from ethnic cleansing.
